William J. Clough, Esq., President/Chief Executive Officer, and General Counsel of CUI Global, Inc. and Subsidiaries
William J. Clough is director and chairman of the company’s board of directors, as well as chief executive officer of the company’s wholly owned subsidiaries, CUI, Inc. and Orbital Gas Systems, Ltd. Clough has served on the board of directors since 2006, and was re-elected at the 2015 annual meeting ofshareholders to serve a one-year term. During his tenure, he has led several strategic initiatives including the company’s acquisition of Orbital Gas Systems Limited and the company’s natural gas technology line, as well as recently opening Orbital Gas Systems, North America, Inc. Clough steered the company through its 2012 and 2013 equity raises and its listing onto the Nasdaq Capital Market. Before joining the company, Clough, an attorney and former law enforcement officer, operated his own law firm for 14 years, with offices in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Honolulu. In that capacity, he has successfully represented leading movie studios and media conglomerates. Clough received his Juris Doctorate, cum laude, from Hastings College of the Law in 1990. He obtained one of the largest ever non-wrongful death jury verdicts in Los Angeles County Superior Court in 2000 and successfully represented parties in multimillion dollar cases throughout the United States. He is certified to practice law in state and federal courts in California, Illinois, Hawaii and before the United States Supreme Court. Clough worked as a police officer for 16 years at the local, state and federal level, including as a Federal Air Marshall flying in Southern Europe and the Middle East.
Daniel N. Ford, Chief Financial Officer of CUI Global Inc. and Subsidiaries, and Chief Operational Officer of Orbital Gas Systems
With a background in the big four accounting firms -including KPMG, Daniel Ford brings a large-company perspective to a small company with big potential. As CFO of CUI, Ford has consistently moved CUI into a position of profitability, efficiency and forward thinking, transforming many of CUI’s accounting, inventory management and vendor relations processes. Ford has implemented improved ERP systems, was instrumental in financing CUI Inc.’s move into its current 62,380-square-foot facility and was actively involved with the team responsible for the company’s equity raises and listing onto the Nasdaq Capital Market. Additionally, he worked to facilitate the acquisitions of Orbital Gas Systems Limited and CUI-Canada and construction of the Orbital Gas Systems facility in the United Kingdom. Ford earned a Master’s of Business Administration from George Fox University, and he has earned many awards and honors including the Financial Executives Award in 2001. He also actively provides leadership in the community.
Nicholas J. Clough, President of Orbital Gas Systems, North America and Chief Sales Officer of Orbital Gas Systems
A proven salesman with a unique and successful history in business development, marketing, project management and team building, Nicholas J. Clough began his career with CUI Global in 2010 working on financial promotion and investor relations. Clough quickly became involved in the development and sale of GasPT®, the company’s proprietary natural gas analyzer. Recognizing GasPT’s great market potential and a need for international distribution, Clough began moving the product into a sales network prior to CUI Global’s acquisition of Orbital in 2013. Following this acquisition, a focus on building the representative network became priority and as a result, Orbital now has more than 40 representative and distribution partners globally. Clough formalized the product division of Orbital which includes GasPT, VE Technology, BioMethane and IRIS RTU.
Richard Law, President of Orbital Gas Systems, Ltd.
Richard Law has worked with Orbital for seven years, serving as president UK Operation for two years. Additionally, he has held several operational and client-facing roles, including implementation of the IRIS RTU system into the UK gas transmission network. Law has been instrumental in transforming the Orbital’s business, including overseeing the construction of its world-class manufacturing and office facility. Law is a chartered engineer, a member of the IET and IGEM and has almost 20 years of engineering experience working in a number of operational and strategic policy roles.
James McGinty, Chief Technical Officer of Orbital Gas Systems
James McGinty brings a successful background in design engineering for natural gas integration to the company. Well known around the Houston area for providing solutions to pipeline and plant operators, McGinty has decades of experience, including owner and operator of CASS Engineering and Director of Front End Engineering for Siemens. McGinty holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Houston..
